Cosmetic Tattooing

At The Laser Beautique we use cosmetic tattooing for the treatment of Vitiligo which is performed by a reputable consultant who is a specialist in her field. Our specialists offer consultations where she will advise and explain what is involved and what can be expected when receiving this treatment.

Vitiligo is an auto-immune disease where there is a loss of pigment in areas such as the eyes, mouth, underarms, hands, which occurs in irregular patches. It’s a non-contagious disease of the skin, extreme hypo-pigmentation occurs due to damage to your melanocytes in a specific area.

It’s a progressive disease with periods of rapid pigment loss and periods of dormancy, thus making it unpredictable.

Before the specialist attempts to treat the affected areas, she will need to make sure that there has been no new pigment loss for at least one year. Please provide your specialist with the relevant information.

How is Vitiligo treated?

In the consultation the specialist will perform a test patch where the correct pigment is matched to your natural skin tone. Treatment can be performed 2-4 weeks after the test patch.

The treatment is performed by means of tattooing and because it’s a disorder with a lack of pigment, at least 3 – 4 sessions are needed per area.

Pre-Treatment need to know:

  • Numbing cream may be prescribed or suggest by our specialist. If you suffer from any heart conditions, please make sure to let us know as this is a contraindication to the use of numbing cream. THIS IS IMPORTANT
  • A test patch is performed before the treatment will be performed
  • The consultation will cost R300 which will be deducted from your treatment cost
