NIR Skin Tightening Treatment

You might be wondering what NIR stands for. NIR means “Near Infrared” a technology used to heat the tissue under the skin’s surface, stimulating the infiltration of fibroblasts and the formation of new collagen, enhancing the tightening effect and helping to bolster the skin against future ageing.

I visited The Laser Beautique in Seapoint yesterday to get the NIR treatment done on my breasts. Can I start by saying the set-up is very relaxing and the therapist makes you feel right at home?

I had my concerns going into this treatment as it’s a delicate area and we would be applying heat. The treatment was actually pain-free, yes there was heat but not an uncomfortable heat. Patented IN-Movement Technology represents a breakthrough in patient comfort; IN-Movement provides concurrent cooling with a gradual thermal rise to the target therapeutic temperature so that there is no risk of injury and the procedure is virtually painless. In layman’s terms, unlike conventional treatments whereby energy is applied to the area using a high peak power, we gradually increase the energy.

To be honest I didn’t think I would see much difference after the first treatment; like most treatments you require a few sessions. The results after the NIR were immediately visible, there was a clear lift and tightening effect on and around the breast area. For best results, you will typically require a series of 3 to 10 treatments over a period of several months, with each treatment lasting 30-40 minutes.  Patients of almost any age or ethnicity can be treated.  Most patients experience no downtime and immediately resume their daily routines.
