1. What is Niacinamide?
The chemical Niacin has 2 chemical forms: niacinamide (which is also called vitamin B3) and nicotinic acid. Our bodies make niacinamide when there is too much niacin. Both forms of niacin can be found in food and supplements and can be purchased in topical versions.

We recommend this chemical to be used in a day serum which is why we created our own product called Wake Up Serum. Our Wake Up Serum is a powerful antioxidant which includes a blend of niacinamide, vitamin C and vitamin E. This blend boosts the skin’s natural defense against oxidation cause by environmental stresses such as pollution.

Vitamin C- A Superior antioxidant, this highly potent form of deep penetrating Tetra (oil soluble pure vitamin C – 20% fights against free radicals, helps neutralize free radicals and protect against oxidative stress whilst providing visible anti-aging benefits
Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)-Helps improve barrier function, inhibit pigmentation, as well as smooth the appearance of fine lines. Promotes overall complexion improvement. Addresses cellular respiration, lipid synthesis, along with offering anti-oxidant properties
Vitamin E – nourishing and moisturizing, assisting in protecting the cell membrane. Ferulic acid (encapsulated)-enhance protection against environmental damage, caused by free radicals that can contribute to atmospheric aging
In TLB Scientific Skincare range we use ingredients such as Niacinamide, Retinol, different peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, AHA, BHA and Lactic Acid. Luckily Niacinamide is a very versatile ingredient and it works well with and in conjunction with many other ingredients.
4. What potential side effects can occur?
Topical niacinamide can cause burning, itching, redness, peeling, or rash on the skin. These side effects can vary in severity and may disappear over time or require topical treatments. Topical niacinamide is considered to be safe and non-toxic up to a concentration of 4-5%.
5. What are the results to be expected?
Once can expect reductions in fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmented spots, red blotchiness. Once can also expect skin elasticity to improve
