PAIN-FREE, PERMANENT
LASER HAIR REMOVAL FOR ALL SKIN TYPES

HANDS DOWN, the word LASER sends shivers down our spines. The thought of never having to use an epilator, never having to pluck, wax or thread again is just fabulous. Some think it’s a dream but with todays technology, this dream can become a reality! Laser is without a doubt the best option for hair removal. There is no better laser treatment for dark or pigmented hair.

At TLB we use revolutionary and award-winning laser technology for permanent and painless hair removal. We apply a new treatment technique called IN-Motion™. This is what makes this treatment pain free, unlike other laser treatments which can be painful and cause burns and even scars. You must be thinking, how can hair removal possibly be pain-free? In layman’s terms, what makes The Laser Beautiques’ treatment pain free and different from other laser treatments is that conventional lasers use a high burst of energy and a “zap and move” treatment technique which stings. Most compare it to the feeling of an elastic band snapping on one’s skin. With conventional lasers, the higher the energy, the more painful the sting and the better the efficacy. Therapist try and treat clients using the highest energy to get best results for their clients. This is why, any institution that have an outdated or cheap laser have a bad reputation for burning and scarring.

Electrolysis reinvented

Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for laser hair removal. If you happen to have slightly blonde, ginger, grey or white hair, sadly laser will not be effective. If anyone tells you that their laser can get rid if non-pigmented hair, they are not being truthful. Laser cannot and will not be ever effective on non-pigmented hair BUT don’t despair, we have recommendations that’ll permanently remove every shade of stubborn hair

For the unlucky ladies and gents who have been blessed with non-pigmented hair, we recommend electrolysis treatments using our revolutionary Apilus device from Canada. Outdated electrolysis devices are not recommended as they are not sophisticated like the Apilus. Older devices are very painful and are known to cause burns and scarring.

Threading

If laser and electrolysis is not for you, we recommend threading for unsightly facial hair or to shape the perfect brow. At The Laser Beautique we have trained threading experts. Threading is a method of hair removal originating in Asia. In more recent times it has gained popularity in Western countries, particularly for removing/shaping eyebrows). This is mostly because consumers don’t know that with our Apilus device, we can offer a permanent and virtually pain free solution.

Threading has also become very popular as the go-to method of getting rid of unwanted fuzz fast. However, it is not comfortable and not permanent. Threading treatments should be done every 2-6 weeks depending on one’s hair growth. Threading makes use of a thin cotton or polyester thread which is doubled and then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair.

wax on, wax off

Waxing is the process of hair removal from the root by using a covering of a sticky substance, such as wax, to adhere to body hair, and then removing this covering and pulling out the hair from the follicle. Yes this is extremely painful! New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to six weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being in a different hair growth cycle. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including brows, face, bikini, legs, arms, back, abdomen, knuckles, and feet. There are two types of wax which suitable for removing unwanted hair. Strip and stripless or hot wax. We highly recommend you do not try DIY waxing. This is not an easy task and can end in disaster.

new hair removal fads

There are new and old devices that have been renamed and relaunched, from epilators to serums and lotions that one is told to apply before waxing to hand held, home laser and IPL devices. We recommend to stay away from these products that companies are trying to sell you. They are not effective and you will only regret spending your hard earned money on a cream or home held machine that will land up either burning you or collecting dust in your bathroom. We have tried and tested every laser, IPL, lotion and potion and there is no better treatment for laser hair removal than the treatments mentioned above.

DEPILATORY CREAMS
OR VEET

This is a home product or cream that removes hair. The way that depilatory creams work, is that they break down the keratin structure – the proteins, of the hair. This effectively thins and dissolves the base of the hairs to the point where they are weak enough to be broken off when the cream is wiped away. The creams typically contain a number of alkaline chemicals, formulated to break down these proteins, but also to be “safe” for your skin. Different skins have different levels of sensitivity of course, so it’s important to get the right one for you and to test an amount of the cream on a small patch of skin 24 hours before you attempt to remove hair over a larger area. We don’t generally recommend depilatory creams but will recommend dipllatroy creams between laser if shaving causes any issues. Depilatory creams are generally safe when used correctly. However, it is easy to mess up and cause injury if you are not careful when using them. This is because these creams contain strong chemicals that can, in fact, cause damage to skin. Regular use of depilatory creams can make skin become more sensitive. Exposure to the sun after use of depilatory creams is not recommended and the creams have also been linked to darkening of the skin. As with all harsh chemicals, there are potentially unknown risks to using them.
