1. Pain-free, permanent laser hair removal for all skin types
HANDS DOWN, the word LASER sends shivers down our spines. The thought of never having to use an epilator, never having to pluck, wax or thread again is just fabulous. Some think it’s a dream but with todays technology, this dream can become a reality! Laser is without a doubt the best option for hair removal. There is no better laser treatment for dark or pigmented hair.
At TLB we use revolutionary and award-winning laser technology for permanent and painless hair removal. We apply a new treatment technique called IN-Motion™. This is what makes this treatment pain free, unlike other laser treatments which can be painful and cause burns and even scars. You must be thinking, how can hair removal possibly be pain-free? In layman’s terms, what makes The Laser Beautiques’ treatment pain free and different from other laser treatments is that conventional lasers use a high burst of energy and a “zap and move” treatment technique which stings. Most compare it to the feeling of an elastic band snapping on one’s skin. With conventional lasers, the higher the energy, the more painful the sting and the better the efficacy. Therapist try and treat clients using the highest energy to get best results for their clients. This is why, any institution that have an outdated or cheap laser have a bad reputation for burning and scarring.
Instead of treating with a very high intensity, In Motion™ technology at The Laser Beautique allows for low, multiple bursts, of energy to gradually increase the treatment intensity. We like to explain the difference between outdated painful lasers and our state-of-the-art pain-free laser by using the analogy of having a bath. If one draws a boiling hot bath and gets in, they will burn, like conventional lasers using high energy BUT if you get into a luke warm bath and gradually increase the temperature of the water, you can withstand even higher temperature without feeling any pain or discomfort, similar to our ground breaking treatment technique.
Therefore, at The Laser Beautique, we can treat our clients more aggressively, yet painlessly and safely. This gradual treatment technique is the first of its kind to safely treat ASIAN, AFRICAN and TANNED SKIN TYPES. There are many benefits of choosing laser as your hair removal method. We already know its pain-free and permanent at The Laser Beautique. Laser also gets rid of ingrown hair. YES! You read right! There are many more reasons why you should chose to have your laser hair removal at The Laser Beautique. Please make sure that you learn all about the difference between IPL and laser and understand how our laser is safe and effective for all skin types, even darker, African and Asian skin types. Learn about laser before you start your journey. Understanding the treatment will allow for more successful result.
2. Exceptionally comfortable electrolysis (reinvented)
Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for laser hair removal. If you happen to have slightly blonde, ginger, grey or white hair, sadly laser will not be effective. If anyone tells you that their laser can get rid if non-pigmented hair, they are not being truthful. Laser cannot and will not be ever effective on non-pigmented hair BUT don’t despair, we have recommendations that’ll permanently remove every shade of stubborn hair
For the unlucky ladies and gents who have been blessed with non-pigmented hair, we recommend electrolysis treatments using our revolutionary Apilus device from Canada. Outdated electrolysis devices are not recommended as they are not sophisticated like the Apilus. Older devices are very painful and are known to cause burns and scarring.
Our Apilus system includes a touch screen with pre-set parameters so leaves no room for therapist to have to guess, in addition, the device limits the level of destruction within the hair follicle, targeting only germinative cells. This consequently protects the skin and prevents new hair growth. Owing to its powerful circuits and stable currents, our electrolygist is capable of pinpoint precision capabilities and optimal settings, designed to deliver ultimate results. The technology within this device is so impressive and so rapid that when the current is released, its so fast that our body doesn’t even register that a treatment has taken place.
You can finally say goodbye to unwanted hair, whether it be facial hair or body hair.
If laser and electrolysis is not for you, we recommend threading for unsightly facial hair or to shape the perfect brow. At The Laser Beautique we have trained threading experts. Threading is a method of hair removal originating in Asia. In more recent times it has gained popularity in Western countries, particularly for removing/shaping eyebrows). This is mostly because consumers don’t know that with our Apilus device, we can offer a permanent and virtually pain free solution.
Threading has also become very popular as the go-to method of getting rid of unwanted fuzz fast. However, it is not comfortable and not permanent. Threading treatments should be done every 2-6 weeks depending on one’s hair growth. Threading makes use of a thin cotton or polyester thread which is doubled and then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair.
Benefits of Threading
- It’s extremely sanitary. Nothing but the thread touches the skin, and it’s thrown away after use.
- Great for people with ‘trouble’ brows. Threading has this amazing ability to be so precise in getting each hair it’s after and in a straight line. It has a cult following from those who say that other shaping methods, like tweezing, waxing, or sugaring, could not make their brows look even.
- No chemicals are applied on the skin. Many have allergies and skin sensitivities, which make it a gamble anytime they put product on their skin. With a string, there are no chemicals or products used, and it can prevent a lot of unnecessary irritation. (Sometimes the tech will cleanse skin or apply powder before removing hair, so please alert them of any allergies.
- It’s very fast. Although every technician is different, its usually time efficient.
- Temporary results can turn into permanent. Over a long period of time, frequent threading can cause the hair follicle to become damaged and stop growing hair.
Areas that can be treated with threading, include the brows, chin, upper lip and full face.
4. Wax on, wax off
Waxing is the process of hair removal from the root by using a covering of a sticky substance, such as wax, to adhere to body hair, and then removing this covering and pulling out the hair from the follicle. Yes this is extremely painful! New hair will not grow back in the previously waxed area for two to six weeks, although some people will start to see regrowth in only a week due to some of their hair being in a different hair growth cycle. Almost any area of the body can be waxed, including brows, face, bikini, legs, arms, back, abdomen, knuckles, and feet. There are two types of wax which suitable for removing unwanted hair. Strip and stripless or hot wax. We highly recommend you do not try DIY waxing. This is not an easy task and can end in disaster.
The Laser Beautique offers hot and cold wax for anyone who is head strong on not wanting to laser, have electrolysis or threading. We strongly recommend hot wax on the facial area as strip wax is too harsh on one’s delicate facial skin. Take note that when one has a wax, their skin is being “stretched”. This is not ideal for skin elastin fibres and for antiaging. Every time ones skin get stretched, it gets loser and eventually fine lines and wrinkles start to set in. Another drawback of waxing is that some people experience ingrown hair, red bumps, and minor bleeding. If you suffer from ingrown hair, we highly recommend laser or electrolysis.

6. Depilatory creams or Veet
This is a home product or cream that removes hair. The way that depilatory creams work, is that they break down the keratin structure – the proteins, of the hair. This effectively thins and dissolves the base of the hairs to the point where they are weak enough to be broken off when the cream is wiped away. The creams typically contain a number of alkaline chemicals, formulated to break down these proteins, but also to be “safe” for your skin. Different skins have different levels of sensitivity of course, so it’s important to get the right one for you and to test an amount of the cream on a small patch of skin 24 hours before you attempt to remove hair over a larger area. We don’t generally recommend depilatory creams but will recommend dipllatroy creams between laser if shaving causes any issues.
Depilatory creams are generally safe when used correctly. However, it is easy to mess up and cause injury if you are not careful when using them. This is because these creams contain strong chemicals that can, in fact, cause damage to skin. Regular use of depilatory creams can make skin become more sensitive. Exposure to the sun after use of depilatory creams is not recommended and the creams have also been linked to darkening of the skin. As with all harsh chemicals, there are potentially unknown risks to using them.
